07/18/18 Pride in Sac County

Charity Grant Assists with Strengthening Community

The Sac County Hometown Pride Committee received funds to go toward the $5000 cost for IEDA Assessments.  IEDA, or the Iowa Economic Development Authority, “works to strengthen economic and community vitality by building partnerships and leveraging resources to make Iowa the choice for people and business. Through two main divisions, business development and community development, IEDA administers several state and federal programs to meet its goals of assisting individuals, communities and businesses.”  The IEDA will assess the downtown areas of Sac County Communities to see what kind of improvements can be made to make the Community’s vision a reality.

The $350.00 Charity Grant was awarded Tuesday from Aureon and Corn Belt Telephone Company to The Sac County Hometown Pride Committee to assist with the expense.  Aureon and Corn Belt Telephone Company are committed to advancing Iowan communities and look forward to the results

02/28/18 Cable TV Customers May See Brief Disruptions

It’s Solar Conjunction time again!

☀️🛰️🛰️🛰️🛰️🛰️🛰️🛰️🛰️🛰️🌎

If you notice some interference with any of your CBT Cable TV Channels the next week or so, it is most likely due to Solar Conjunction. Interference may include audio, video or both.

Twice a year this phenomenon occurs when the sun passes directly behind satellites transmitting cable tv signals. When the sun is aligned with a satellite, solar radiation interferes with the satellite’s signal and thus causes a brief signal outage. Not to worry though, this outage typically only lasts a few minutes (between 5 and 45) and mostly occurs between the hours of 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

This round of Solar Conjunction should end on or around March 9th. We apologize for the inconvenience, however this phenomenon is universal and beyond current technical control. If you have any questions about Solar Conjunction, feel free to contact us.

01/12/18 Stadium Joins Our Line Up

Stadium Joins CBT Cable TV Channel Line Up.

We’re excited to share with you a new addition to our Line Up.  Meet Stadium.

Per their official description, “Stadium is the ultimate destination for the modern day sports fan; a multi-platform sports network that brings together exclusive live games and events, extensive highlights, classic games, original programming, and daily live studio programming. Stadium breaks the boundaries of traditional sports programming and produces world-class sports content every day of the year, delivering to fans on every device.”.

Further, “Stadium was formed when Campus Insiders, 120 Sports and American Sports Network combined forces to take advantage of a combined collection of professional and collegiate rights and full game archives, as well as to maximize access to a broad array of post-game highlights, up-to-the-moment news, and original, long-form programming.”.

Stadium was built through the merging of 120 Sports’ live studio operations, Silver Chalice’s Campus Insiders’ live collegiate games and Sinclair’s American Sports Network’s (ASN) distribution and live collegiate games. The three entities joined forces in the spring of 2017.

Stadium is owned by a collection of industry leaders including Silver Chalice, Sinclair Broadcast Group, MLBAM, the NHL, the PGA TOUR, and Time, Inc.. The network is headquartered in Chicago.

You can watch Stadium on CBT Channel 39.16 and learn more at watchstadium.com.

12/21/17 Merry Bump Outs

CBT Gets Festive in Lake View!

What’s better than giving presents?  Giving BIG presents!  We sure had a lot of fun building our Christmas Display for our bump out in Lake View.  Although we had some, eh hum, technical difficulties with the wind, it brought a whimsical presence (hehe, see what I did there!) to downtown.  Did you get a chance to see all of the displays?  What a great contest it was, and we really enjoyed seeing downtown Lake View all dressed up in it’s Christmas best!  Happy Holidays everyone!
